Bride and Groom outside at Sunset at The Parker Mill Wedding Venue in Jackson NC near Asheville North Carolina

When life gives you lemons, you make the best darn lemonade that you can. Even if you wanted oranges, or limes, or bananas, when all you have is lemons, you make the most out of it. Remember this, as we talk about Stacy + Al’s Parker Mill elopement wedding, we’ll come back to it later.

So many of my wedding couples this year have been in this situation, pivoting their weddings, their engagement sessions, and instead planning for a small, intimate elopement, and saving the party for when their guests feel safe and can all make it. Call me an optimist (no really, I’m super optimistic, it’s kinda annoying) but I think this is making for the best possible situation, and here’s why.

An intimate elopement allows you the luxury of creating your day for YOU, from start to finish, with every detail perfectly reflecting you and your partner. The guest list is small (sometimes it’s only you two!) and so you only need to invite your closest friends and family. All of this helps keep the cost down, the location flexible and unique, and the day special and intentional. And then your wedding allows you to get together with others, host a party celebrating your marriage, and is more about the people you invited and showing them how much you love and appreciate them. The wedding can feature highlights from your elopement, and it can be simpler and less to plan overall. So best of both worlds!

So what you’re seeing below is part one, the elopement at The Parker Mill. An intimate ceremony at the top of their property, looking over the mountain range below, a champagne toast inside the wedding venue, and some creative couples photos, and a great photo of the bride’s parents too. It was a relaxed, fun, carefree evening in the mountains, and exactly what Stacy + Al wanted to begin this chapter of their lives together.

Does this sound perfect to you? Want help planning your elopement? Let’s chat and create the perfect day for you! We’ve got lemons, so let’s make some darn good lemonade!
